Who We Are

Connected Planet

Connected Planet is helping create a global network of wildlife corridors — linking half of our lands and oceans — and inspiring the protection of places that connect life on Earth.

Wildlife corridors are the ecological infrastructure of our planet. They keep wilderness areas linked within larger mosaics that include tribal lands, rangelands, farms, and forests. By identifying and supporting the protection of wildlife corridors, we ensure that species can migrate, adapt, and survive — and that ecosystems continue to provide clean water, climate resilience, and cultural and economic benefits.

The Promise of a Connected Planet
With less than 15% of Earth’s lands and waters currently protected, and 115+ countries committed to conserving 30% of the planet by 2030, wildlife corridors offer the most pragmatic and unifying path to accelerate conservation at scale.

The science behind wildlife corridors is clear. But what’s often missing is the storytelling that builds public will and political consensus for protection. Connected Planet will support National Geographic Explorers who are telling powerful stories about wildlife corridors, in multiple US states and across five continents.
